Where is the best place to visit in the world?
Hi Paul - I have been working and travelling - Chat rooms do take up a great deal of time. I will try and keep up with a few of the threads.

Muztagh-ata mountains
Kunlun (Kurum)mountains starts from Qinghai – Tibet plateau on the east and joins to Karakurum mountains on the north west. Kongur(7719m) and Muztaghata(7546)is the first and third highest peaks at its Pamir plateau. Not far fromthe Kongur peak is the Kongur sister peak 7595 meters from sea level. Among these peaks, Muztaghata become very attractive since it has been approached by Chinese – USSR expedition in July 31th,1956. Muztaghata means Father of Ice Mountains in Uyghur language. The late may to early September are the best time to make the summit. The ascent to make the summit needs from 15 to 20 days depending on the professional level of climbers but Kongur and its sister peaks takes 30 to 35 days to do the summit..

Rock Climbing
I climbed fanatically for years! My first year in Colorado I logged 318 days. Lots of great climbing here. I started when I still lived in Ohio. I’d drive to the New River Gorge every weekend to get my fix. Since I began in 1994, I’ve climbed in 26 different states and 3 countries. My all time favorite crag would have to be Eldorado Canyon, Colorado. Super tall multi pitch trad style climbing. Horsetooth reservoir in Fort Collins also holds a high ranking in my opinion. Have fun!.

Can anyone recommend a good resort for snowboarding.

Can anyone recommend a good resort for snowboarding.
[quote:cceba2d2a7=”Shandy”]Hello John, have you already been and come back? Would like to know what the snow situation in Morzine?Avioraz is. I went skiing last Saturday to Axamer Lizum (right next to Innsbruck) and it was actually surprisingly good. I was planning on going again on Sunday with a couple of friends, but unfortunatley the last 3 days it even got warmer than last week. It looks like the last bit of snow is going to melt away as well.

Money!! - How did you afford it
There is a related discussion about this “How do YOU generate travel funds whilst on the road?” The gist of the discussion is that people work and make money very similarly all over the world. They wash dishes to make money. They bring fruits from one place to another and make money. They wait for tables to make money. Modeling, exporting, fishing, farming, teaching (English), etc. Once you realize this and realize that you are capable of doing these things in different countries, you can somehow generate funds while you travel …

Tree climbing
Hi,
Source: www.aardvarktravel.net

Is this adventure travel?
For the purists, adventure travel is almost extinct as there are very few activities and loctions which have not been well trodden. There may be a few exceptions such as free diving under the polar ice caps, submarine trips to the san andreas trench or space travel. Otherwise, whatever we do is likely to have been done before not so long ago.

Have you done SKYDIVING?
Do it! I did a tandem skydive at Noosa in Oz and it was one of the most thrilling experiences ever… the plane ride up to the ahem, untactfully named drop-off point was all a blur as I was in something of a blue cowardly funk at the time (apparently the pilot remarked that he had never seen anyone actually go green before).

Rural Tourism in Spain

Friday 27 April 2007 @ 12:48 am

Rural Tourism in Spain
I agree with Karen S. We run a rural tourism business in Spain, and whilst this sector is one of the fastest growing , there is still a problem in promoting other than to the Spanish national market. One of the reasons behind this is the fact that Spain consists of 17 semi automous states(communities) and there is no set standard or general approach to promoting this sector of tourism.

Hi,
Source: www.aardvarktravel.net

Where is your dream trekking destination?
I used to have a policy of only going overland unless there were VERY dire circumstances requiring a plane. I only went over oceans on planes. I still prefer overland by far, but my life and work does not always permit it. I used to say, I want to feel the earth move under my feet, I want to see the ground go by….
